CHARLES TOWN -- A man is suing a Charles Town couple for injuries he sustained when he fell on their sidewalk.

On Jan. 30, 2009, Ben J. Currier was walking on the sidewalk in front of Richard W. and Maria V. Weese's residence when he fell and sustained injuries, according to a complaint filed Feb. 12 in Jefferson Circuit Court.

Currier claims the defendants violated their responsibility to have the sidewalk in front of their residence free and clear of snow and ice.

As a result of the defendants' failures, Currier sustained injuries to his right arm, which was broken in four places; suffered pain of body and mind; and incurred expenses for medical attention and hospitalization, according to the suit.

Currier claims he has incurred more than $124,000 in medical expenses. He is being represented by Stephen G. Skinner.

Currier is seeking compensatory damages for his injuries.
